    Yes, when a body is moving in a certain direction and a force acts on it from opposite direction, the body ultimately comes to stop. At that time, the velocity is “zero” but since there is gravitational force, the body has acceleration in the direction of the force. This occurs when a body tossed vertically is at the highest point, or when an oscillating pendulum is at maximum range.

    When a body is thrown vertically upward at the highest point velocity is zero but there is acceleration.
