A measure of concentration equal to the gram equivalent weight per liter of solution is known as normality.
Normality is the ratio of amount of gram equivalent weight of solute that can dissolve in 1000 ml of solution at a particular temperature. It is denoted by “N”.
Mathematically,
Normality(N)= no. of gram equivalent wt. of solute/ vol of solution in ml *1000
