When clothes are washed again and again, the salts present in water as well as the detergent give them yellowish tint, making them look poor as them passes by. In order to get rid off them, there should be addition of some colour, which can offset the yellow colour. When the components of white colour(VIBGYOR) are observed, green is neutral and the colour which offsets yellow is blue. So “blues” are added to clothes.
